Welcome to the Intensive English Program (IEP)

Levels 3, 4, and 5 at Saint Michael's College, Colchester, Vermont!

Program eliminated by Saint Michael's College in June 2020

Spring 2009 - Summer 2018

All invited students, staff, and faculty are able to edit the wiki and upload files (pictures, documents, audio, video) to the Files area.  You can also add links and comments on each page.

Each class has its own folder -- see the Sidebar or the Folders on the right.  Please use it to upload materials or create new pages.

Let's start by introducing ourselves and uploading a picture.  Students go to the Bios, photos--students page.  Teachers go to the IEP Teachers, Staff, Student Assistants - Bios and Pictures page.

Welcome to our new class wiki for Reading and Writing. Please upload your book reports and writing in the appropriate folder. Each one of you has a page for Reading and Writing. You can also create new pages and folders. This is a great way of sharing your work with the rest of the class. I hope you enjoy our wiki.

I'm glad you like it, Lino. Research (Chapelle, 2008) has also shown that collaborative vocabulary learning increases retention of vocabulary, so a Wiki should help with this!

It's nice to "see" you online and get to know you a little before you even arrive on campus. It's snowing hard outside as I'm writing this, and everything is turning white -- a beautiful winter wonderland. My husband and I went out for a quick walk and returned as "snowmen". You'll see when you get here. Be sure to bring boots or at least sturdy shoes if you have any.

Thank you all for the great wishes. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas holiday, too, and I wish you in German (my native language), "a good slide into the New Year." It's pretty slippery up here in Vermont, so get ready to slide! :-)
