Describe the change in the relationship between the mother country and the colonies 1700-1774. Include major events and dates in your discussion.
According to Conneston & Reid 1993, three main events changed the American history. Great Britain controlled the American colonial trade. They gave to heavy taxes, but the colonist protested against British parliament, so they finally controlled by force. Americans protested against Great Britain by three main events. In 1765, British Parliament passed the Stamp Act, but colonists in Boston protest against the Stamp Act because they didn’t have any representation in Parliament. The Parliament revoked the Stamp Act. In 1770, the Bostonians surrounded a small group of British soldiers guarding the tax building. British soldiers killed five citizens and wounded six others. This event is called “The Boston Massacre”. Therefore, all 13 colonies resented toward Parliament and British soldiers. The tax on British tea was kept as a symbol of Parliament’s power to make laws for the colonists, but the colonists protested against the Tea Tax. In 1773, The Son of Liberty boarded British ships and threw all their tea into the water. These happen call “The Boston Tea Party”. Consequently, the King of England and Parliament decided to punish the unruly colonies

The major events that led up to the American Revolution
According to Connerton and Reid (1993) the major events that led up to the America Revolution are the Stamp Act, The Boston Tea Party, and the Boston Massacre. First of all, the Stamp Act was established by the parliament in 1765, that is, King of England and members of government. For example, some basic items were required to have a royal stamp which increased the prices. Secondly, parliament decided to repeal all the import taxes in 1772, except one. It was the British tea keeping it as symbol of the parliament’s power to make laws for the colonies. Therefore, in 1773 Sons of Liberty disguised themselves as Indians to board the ships containing the tea in order to throw it into the water. Finally, in the Boston Massacre in 1770 many angry protestors carrying stones surrounded British soldiers guarding the tax building. As result, five citizens were killed and six wounded. To sum up, the Stamp Act, the Boston Tea Party, and the Boston Massacre were the major events that caused the American Revolution.

the major events that led up to the American Revolution
According to Connerton & Reid (1993), three mayor events occurred during the colonial period that led up to the American Revolution. Everything began when the British wanted to protect their territory; therefore, they needed money to do so. In order to get the money, they had to pass laws and tax the colonial’s things. The first law was The Stamp Act in 1765. This law demanded that all papers (newspaper, magazines and legal papers) ought to have a royal stamp. This increased the price of the papers. Later, in 1767, another law was passed. This time there was a long list of British goods to be taxed. The colonists got organized and a group called the Sons of Liberty was born to defend the injustice against the taxation. The organization led up to The Boston Massacre in 1770. In this second event, five citizens were killed and six more were wounded. Then, the British decided to take out the tax on the things except for the tea. As a result, the Son of Liberty boarded three ships that carried tea and threw it into the water. After that, in 1773 Bostonians started to make their own tea party; this event was called The Boston Tea Party. Although in 1775 the Bostonians and the British had the first fight, it was until July 4, 1776 that they got the independence.
In short, these three events originated The American Revolution which lasted until 1783.

Describe a change in the relationship between mother country and the colonies from 1700-1774. Include major events and dates in your discussion.
According to Connerton and Reid (1993), the relationship between the mother country England and the colonies changed between 1700 and 1774.In order to protect the colonies, the British imposed taxes on the colonists. Therefore in 1765, the Parliament passed a law that required the colonists to pay taxes, the Stamp Act, which is a law that required paying taxes for all those newspapers, magazines and legal paper. The Bostonian colonists protested against this act. They thought that because they didn`t have representation on parliament they shouldn`t be paying taxes. However, the parliament didn`t care and passed a new law that required the colonist payed taxes for the British goods that were imported. As a result, Bostonians protested. The protests continue and in 1770, British troops killed five Bostonians and six were wounded. This was the Boston Massacre. The relationship between Mother country and the colonies was going from bad to worse. Later in 1772, Parliament repealed all taxes, except the one for the tea, so Bostonians disguised like Indians, boarded the ship and threw all the tea to the water. This is known as the “Boston Tea Party”. Great Britain got really up set and decided to punish the Bostonians by closing the port and sending more soldiers. The Bostonians felt offended and thought that what was happening was a military occupation. This was in 1774. In short, the relationship between the British and the Americans changed drastically from 1700 to 1774.

Major events that led up the American Revolution
According to the reading “Boston, Massachusetts: The Birth of a New Nation”, there were many events that led up to the American Revolution. The relationship between colonies and Britain began to break up when the Parliament passed the Stamp Act in 1765. The Stamp Act increased the prices that colonies had to pay for items that were included in this Act (newspapers, magazines, and legal papers), because all these items had to have a royal stamp. This happened in 1765. Then, in the same year, colonies protested against the taxation by sending a letter to the Parliament. The royal stamp wasn’t right for the colonies because they didn’t have representation in Parliament. In 1767 the Parliament passed another law with a new list of goods for taxes. Colonies organized a boycott to protest against the taxes. The boycott was called the “Sons of Liberty”. The protest ended with the Boston Massacre in 1770, when a group of angry protestors and British soldiers were part of a disturbance where five citizens died. The Parliament repealed all the import taxes, except the tea tax. In December 16, 1773, the Bostonians went to Boston harbor, and boarded the ship. Then, Bostonians threw all their tea into the water. This is known as the Boston Tea Party. These were the more important events that led up to the America Revolution.

The events that led up to the American Revolution
According to Connerton and Reid (1993), at the end of the 18th century, important events led up to the American Revolution. The first event was the Stamp Act adopted by the British Parliament in 1765. By this law, the British imposed a tax on newspapers, magazines, and legal documents. The Bostonians protested. They didn’t accept any taxation without representation. Great Britain maintained their taxes and added others on British goods. There were a lot of protests. One of them, the second major event, was the Boston Massacre in 1770, where five citizens were killed and six were wounded by British soldiers. In 1772, the Parliament repealed all taxes except the tea tax. This decision was the cause of the third event. In 1773, Sons of Liberty disguised themselves as Indians. They boarded three Britain ships and threw out tea in the water. It was called the Boston Tea Party. The Parliament reacted promptly. In 1774, they closed the port of Boston. This decision led colonies to declare their independence in 1776 because Great Britain would maintain their taxation power without any colonies representation in England.

Major Events that Led Up to the American Revolution
According to Connerton and Reid 1993, the major events that caused the American Revolution are The Stamp Act, The Boston Massacre, and The Boston Tea Party. In 1765, Parliament passed The Stamp Act. This law required that all newspapers, magazines, and legal papers in the colonies have a royal stamp; and because of the stamp was a tax, colonist were unhappy. The Boston Massacre held in 1770 was very important to the led up of The American Revolution. After the other 12 colonies found out that the British soldiers killed five people, and injured six more, their resentment toward Parliament and British soldiers grew stronger. In 1773, The Boston Tea Party came because of the Parliament’s decision to repeal all of the import taxes, except the one for tea. Bostonians entered the unloaded tea British ships disguised as Indians, and they threw all tea into the sea. This made the King of England and the Parliament very angry, so they decided to punish de unruly colonists by closing the Port of Boston, taking away the power of Massachusetts Assembly, and putting the colony under the British soldiers’ control. Therefore, these three things are important in the led up of the American Revolution; it was with these events that all the differences between the colonies and England were show, and caused the American Revolution.

Discuss the major events that led up to the American Revolution. Include dates in your discussion.
Three important events led up the American Revolution. The beginning of this revolutionary movement occurred in 1765 with the taxation imposed by the British Parliament on newspaper, magazines, and legal papers. It is traditionally called the “The Stamp Act”. According to Connerton and Reid (1993), Bostonians and the rest American Colonies felt annoyed by the higher prices and they did not want to pay tribute to the Mother England without any representation in the British Parliament. During 1770 protests happened against the new law. One of these protests is named “The Boston Massacre”, which takes out five citizen lives. The thirteen colonies resented these deaths. After many protests, the Parliament decided to remove the taxation on papers but the tea still being taxed. This would prove the tangible power of the British over the American colonies. In consequence, The Sons of Liberty decided to boycott the tea trade in order to demonstrate their disapproval. First of all, the townspeople would not allow the tea to be unloaded. Then the Sons of Liberty boarded three British tea ships in Boston and threw all the tea into the water. This event became known as “The Boston Tea Party”, which occurred in 1773. These three major events not only began the American Revolution towards the independence, but also they joined the thirteen colonies as a new nation.

The major events that led up the American Revolution
According to Connerton and Reid (1993), there are three major events that led up the American Revolution: the Stamp Act, the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. The first event was the Stamp Act, in November 1765; British people put taxes to the newspaper, magazines, and legal papers in the colonies had a royal stamp. Because the stamp increased the price, the colonists considered it a tax. A second event was the Boston Massacre; the colonists set fire to the homes of British tax collectors. Also, the British soldiers were sent to quiet the leaders of the
Sons of Liberty. The third event was the Boston Tea Party, in 1772; all taxes were repealed, except the tea. This one was kept as a symbol of power to make laws for the colonies. The merchants refused to buy it; as a result, they boarded three British ships in the Boston Harbor and threw all the tea into the water. In conclusion the American Revolution didn’t come up as a surprising event; it was a result of the Stamp Act, the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. Those three events was the cause of the revolution.

Discuss the major events that led up to the American Revolution
According to Connerton and Reid (1993), the Stamp Act, the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party were the main causes of the American Revolution. This was a kind of response to the impositions from England to the colonists. One of the main events that encouraged the Bostonians to fight against Great Britain was taxes imposed by Parliament. When the British defeated the French in 1763, the British territory in America got bigger, and it needed to be defended, so that implied more money to be spent. People in England were taxed, so Parliament decided to tax the colonies starting in 1765, when they established that some items must have a royal stamp, increasing the price of the articles. That was considered a tax. In 1767, Parliament required import taxes on the colonies, as result, the Bostonians organized themselves to protest. The Sons of Liberty was the named for them. The protests didn´t stop, so England sent soldiers to defend their tax collectors. The murder of the five citizens by the British soldiers in 1770 was cause of the American Revolution. This event was called the Boston Massacre. The military occupation and the closing of the colonial ports made feel the colonist very upset. Finally, in 1773 the Sons of Liberty disguised themselves and threw all the tea from the ships into the water as a symbol of their opposition. Then the other colonies started to have their own tea parties. As we have seen, the imposition of the Stamp Act, the Boston Massacre and the Boston tea party encouraged the colonists to look for their independence from England. As a result of this, the American Revolution occurred.

The major events that led up to the American Revolution
According to Connerton & Reid (1993), there were many events that led to the American Revolution, but the most significant ones were the Stamp Act in 1765, the Boston Massacre in 1770, and the Boston Tea Party in 1773. The first event that contributed to the start of the American Revolution was the Stamp Act. It was the first direct imposed by Britain to the American colonies. This act was created to help cover the cost of maintaining troops in the colonies, and was applied to newspapers, magazine and legal papers. It caused a lot of controversy within the colonist because the prices of these products increased. The second event was The Boston Massacre. This was the result of the tension between soldiers from colonies and British soldiers. The fight started when a group of protesters tried to attack the tax building with rocks. British soldiers then attacked them, killing five citizens and wounding six others. The last major event that contributed to the beginning of the American Revolution was The Boston Tea Party. The British decided to impose a tax on tea. In 1773, the Sons of liberty, disguised as Indians, boarded three British ships and threw the tea into the water. In summary, these events all caused the angry of the king of England and they weakened the relationship between the mother country and the American Colonies. This marked the beginning of American Revolution.

The authors of the reading “Boston, Massachusetts”: The birth of a new nation" Connerton and Reid (1993). The British Parliament uses to made decision without the opinion or participation of the colonies by not allowing them to have a representation; because of this the American Revolution was going to occur. There were many main reasons the cause the anger of people in New England. The Stamp Act in 1765 consists in a tax or fee for the colonies.
