Traits that facilite Cross-Cultural Adaptation.

Many people has different problems or feelings when they arrive in a new country. There are three phsicological traits that can help us to adapt a new enviroment. The first is Personal curiosity, it consist in to be strong interesting to know everything about culure from the new country. There is a relationship between curiosity and success in cultural adaptation because the more curious we are about the new culture more we explore and learn about this, more we understand, more comfortable we feel and more success will be our adaptation. Our personal curiosity can be completed in different ways such as: go to public library and read some books about American culture, go to different places, ask questions to american people, they help and share us their culture.

The second trait is Tolerance of differences. Sometimes is difficult to adapt a new place because there are many new things: behavior, climaate, culture, language. In this period we can make sure an emotional support group. If necessary to learn many about the new culture and appreciate our culture more.

The third is A cross-cultural perspective is about learning a new culture. Every culture is unique and ethnocentric. We can observe everythings around us and learn it.

1- Describe the change in the relationship between the mother country and the colonies 1700-1774.

The relationship between Great Britain and the thirteen colonies was very good in 1700s. There were many natural resources in the colonies, and it was very important for British's market. Every colony elected an assambly because Great Britain could have a better control of them.

Britain needed to protect its colonies of France, for this reason many soldiers arrived in American land. They had to receive a salary and Parliament decided to pass the Stamp Act in 1765, it was a tax in the price of newspapers, magazines, etc. This decision was the beginning of a bad relationship between the mother country and the colonies: as a result, the Bostonians protested.  Citizens said that they did not have representation in the Parliament.

Parliament passed another law in 1767. People had to pay import taxes of British goods. A group of citizens called the sons of liberty did a boycott. Some Bostonians set fire to the collectors' taxes homes. Another group attacked some British soldiers. There were died people and it was called the Boston massacre on March 5, 1770.

In 1772 the tax of tea was not repeal because it meant the Parliament's power. Bostonians protested with a singular way. They did the party tea when they threw all tea into the water in 1773. The king punished to Bostonians closed their port. The other colonies supported to Boston. They wanted to be in peace with the mother country. There were happened many events between these territories but they wanted to improve their relationship.
