Choose one of these essay questions to answer based on the reading, "Set in Our Ways: Why Change Is So Hard."

 

  1. Outline and discuss the different influences on change at different stages in life. Illustrate your answer with examples and research findings. What is the most prominent influence, in your opinion. Explain your reasons.
  2. Nature or nurture? Discuss the different research opinions with respect of the influence of nature/nurture on attitudes toward change. Illustrate your answer with examples. Which is the more prominent influence, in your opinion. Explain your reasons.
  3. Why is change so difficult? Discuss the underlying reasons, illustrated with examples and expert opinions. Discuss the solutions offered by the author. Do you agree or disagree? Explain your reasons.

  1. Read your peer's essay answer. 
  2. Use the rubric below to assign a value for five questions to the the essay answer. 
  3. Write a comment on your classmate's essay answer explaining the values you chose.
  4. Write your name.
